Steep concrete driveway - repair advice

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

I have a circa 40 year old concrete driveway that is in need of some tlc. As it is very steep, we have had to use grit on it in the past, so the surface is corroded and the edges spalling.

Is there a method of repairing or resurfacing such a driveway, or does it need complete replacement? I often read of epoxy sealers too. How good are these? Do they still provide a good surface for grip?

I have photos, but they are not hosted, so cannot display them.

The "epoxy sealers" you mention are more properly known as Resin Bonded Surfacing which can be a godsend on steep driveways, as long as the substrate (the existi9ng concrete) isn't too knackered.

I quite like to look of that. To be honest though, existing concrete is probably in to poor a condition.

If you are considering doing the job properly, you should take a look at Exposed Aggregate Concrete which is perfectly suited to steep driveways, and will last another 40+ years.

You can patch repair with a rapid strength gain cementitious repair mortar: 1 Hour Repair Mortar

Or scabble/prep the top surface and apply a thin bonded screed over the entire driveway: Ronafix Prepacked Screed

And apply resin bonded surfacing over the entire re-screed driveway: RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing
