In the eyes of a court, it doesn't matter how many years you've been doing it that way, the fact that the work does not comply with 7533:3 means you've cheated the client and any other argument you might want to make regarding workmanship is undermined.

I've seen it happen on several occasions. Contractors have lost cases because they were shown not to be aware of, or blissfully disregarded, the British Standards.
Hi tony thanks for the heads up, i didnt know that as the case i was under the impression that british standards were voluntary unless i had put it in a contract? Any idea?

We knew there was a water pipe. You can see the stop tap in footpath. We traced it back, found it without damaging it and had to re-route it behind the walls.
Other than that, no problems. Except for the horrendous rain !! Which held the job up a bit.

I can see why you won the awards Mick G mentioned.

mikey do you not think that was the first thing i asked?
all the motors have trackers on now,and every bit of cable, type 1,and tarmac is allocated to the teenth degree
the electric has got to be dug across a road so that involves a fair bit of planning ,traffic lights etc
