most of my mates are gooners simon and there is an air of despondency about them
TBH i am surprised walcott has signed up for another 3 years of SFA
van persie left to win trophies and it looks like he is on his way to at least 1
i was there when they did the double in 98 and it was great crack, but they need to spend more

Mick - It was good to see you last week at Bolton.
A big congrats on winning 4 awards.
The Fairstone Sett driveway looks stunning. Fantastic attention to detail and workmanship.
With regard to the cutting in. I can see both sides of the argument. Whilst I am mostly against using slips and darts, there are certain circumstances where you have to. If it makes the job look right. In Micks case, I think he has got it right. A job like that will cost a fortune and sometimes your eye or the clients eye picks out the inboard cutting and it just looks wrong. Sometimes you have to sacrifice correct procedure to make it look right. Only sometimes though !!!!
I also understand Tonys stance on British Standards and the competence of installers.
I know a few installers who do not know how to cut in properly. Mention inboard cutting and using half blocks and they just look gormless like you are talking foreign.
Going back to the Marshalls Regional Awards - I was delighted to pick up the Best Driveway under 70m2. It was the first time I entered. I only entered the 1 job and won. Chuffed to bits.
The driveway I won with was Marshalls Cobbletech in Canvas colour. I laid it last August and it was the first time I had used Cobbletech.
Now I know some of the purists like Tony may not like the Cobbletech, but considering it is a hell of a lot cheaper than installing proper setts, I think it looks great. I have since laid another one and the clients are overjoyed with it.
Gonna try and post a photo next. I may need help, not done it before !!
Cheers guys

Originally the drive was gonna be Tegula. 1 week before we started, I visited the clients and showed them the Cobbletech. It cost them about £1200 more, but they didnt hesitate in choosing it.
They only wanted the first 50m2 of their drive paved. The remaining 200m2 they wanted in gravel.
If only they had chosen the whole lot in Cobbletech, I might have been challeging Mick for the National Overall Winner !!!.
I also tried to talk them into having new edging kerbs up both sides of the drive, but they insisted on keeping the original ones. Small detail, but I think new kerbs would have made it better
