Hi all

I'm laying a friend's patio next week and have just had a look at the stone flags. They vary in thickness fromn 1 inch to 2 inch. What would be the best mix to use to lay onto? And would you use dry mix or wet?

I'm also concerned about the effect of cold weather on the mortar layer.

Many thanks

Justin

10:1 to give you plenty of working time, and a moist mix to give you workability with minimal mess.

Bedding Materials

If the temp is 4°C or below at any time in the first 48 hours, forget it.

I would go 5:1. Sharp sand and cement and a wet consistency ie wet enough to work but dry enough it wont slump
