Got a call from a mate who was to busy,6 wheel lorry went through this bridge over a main drain, household is stranded, till thursday when we fit temp. bridge.
i've dug 2 base plinths and concreted ready for bridge to sit on, 2 layer A252mesh rc45 concrete for a 6 week stand with foot traffic only,

lucky we could run dumper along the other bank but was 800m up and down trip, but better than pushing barrow with a cube off concrtete.....

3x1x.3 concrete pad, bridge is 18mx2.6m comes from beaver bridges,they suggest lay it on sleepers,but the engineer over-ruled it, over kill in my opionion MSH :)

the consultant engineer is talking £60/70k crane is £3k for the 1 lift,plus the hire, new bridge deck they priced at 23k

I would have thought a gang of steel shutterers and fixers would fix and pour that in a week
around 20m3
but i suppose it would cost around the 20k mark

All went well today, -4 this morning,crane arrived from Leed's,bridge from shropshire/wales border, 1.5hr to rig crane 100tonner, 10mins to lift bridge in,lean mix across the ends to walk on, home at 3.30pm

Just hope we win the final phase fitting new bridge and abuttments, down to 3 quotes so fingers crossed

Local crane co. came out and looked, but whated paying £3500+vat up front before they lift,this crane was hired through bridge co. on there a/c, as the consultant won't get paid from loss adjusters for a month, lot of expense and time 3.5 hours each way travel 1.5 hours to rig up and pack away for 10mins work MSH :)
