Downside is the ridiculous number of people who shouldn't be on the road in the best driving conditions still trying to drive with heavy snow and ice.

I'm probably tempting fate but it's completely snow-free here, and I hope it says that way. The cold is bad enough - I can't play out as much when it's zero or below as it triggers the angina, so snow or ice means I'm grounded and have to do paperwork. :(
