I'm fitting a new bathroom a week before Christmas. I want to tile the bath panel and have a couple of questions

1. Is it simply a case of discarding the plastic panel and replacing it with plywood and then tiling plywood?

2. What about accessing behind the panel

Cheers

Ply + adhesive + tile + grout = very heavy to move for access.

can be done as Sean describes but making hard work for access
as long as you are confident in the plumbing do it
personally i like a freestanding bath

Sounds like a plan.
How about adding a safety chain inside where it can't be seen. So you have to pull the panel away a bit and then unhook.
Chances are a heavy weight panel won't fall forward but you never know.

This is how I done mine with travertine 12mm thick,
I done all the plumbing then made a frame and wanted access both ends then put ply on make sure you use PVA glue on the wood and this is what we have got.

always leave access our plumbers had to smash into a panel the other day as no access and then no matching tiles to repair. ive done them before and screwed them on with mirror screws.
