Had a big project going on for about 12 months now. These are some of their highlights.

Jointing with tarmac

Inventive steps

Nice and tidy compound

Wagon driver decided to drive over the grass, took them 45 minutes of head scratching to figure out the solution

These just make me smile

Interesting use of Heras feet as steps. Is it a 'sustainable development' site. Also, Dave might be missing a trick as it looks as though they've found a way to lay slabs on tarmac. :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

it looks like one of luton councils own workforce installations
BTS= building and technical services
obviously not trained to any particular degree ,but before we get overexcited criticising we dont know what pressure these blokes were on to produce
often i have seen unskilled men being told "just do it"
and there are the results

This is all we can expect when paving is unappreciated as a genuine skill and the work is given over to labourers who have, at best, only a 50:50 chance of getting their boots on the right feet on any given day.

Whenever a project budget needs slashing, it nearly always the paving and hard-landscaping that bears the brunt.

Surely this cant be an exercise in saving money, any one who thinks they have saved a penny doing work of this calibra has lost the plot.Seeing the finish must make you wonder what horrors lurk beneath & how long before it all has to come up & be done to a proper standard.Whats the old saying? something about if its worth doing??

The claims for trips and falls will more than pay for an expert tradesman

Honestly it makes me laugh, we are all losing out on work to these guys. And the difference in cost? Maybe 5%? Ya get what ya pay for most of the time

Well, after the recent rain, all of the superb sand pointing has mass migrated to the bottom of the steps, and the blue pavers are all over the place.

as the gaffer says, they would rather spend all the dough on some eco friendly super expensive rain harvesting system or some other green credential

we get it on extensions, the client overspends on the kitchen and bathroom and the drive/patio gets put on a back burner
