nice work dylan
you do realise that for £70 of plastic channels and a bucket of gravel at 1 end it would conform to SUDS
I spoke to the BCO about it the other week as the pikeys have hit the town hard and no drains are going in
he said its a planning issue
the SUDS legislation is mad but its been with us for 4 years and i dont want to get a comeback for not doing it
cheers LLL :)

dan, with did the walls at the front for both properties last back end so the pikeys could finish the tarmac drive next door. when i had finished the drive put fence up and turfed the other house decided they wanted theres turfing :p . when the pikeys did the drive with a b/p edge boarder they then painted them red :D

You won't get a comeback - the legislation is so bloody leaky that responsibility for compliance lies solely with the client, not the contractor. Even is a client can prove that a contractor did not inform them of the legislation or their responsibilities, they are at fault.

It's a mad, mad world!

I agree tony. Except round here they don't enforce anything so everyone is getting away with it. One planning bod from from enforcement poured a bottle of water on some tumbled blocks and said "it appears to drain through so I am satisfied"!

the bottom line is that with all the cuts they have far bigger illegal planning issues to pursue
see beds for sheds threads
but what i was trying to say is that even a line of £6 plastic channels and a bucket of gravel buried at one end would conform to the current legislation
its poor to say the least
permeable paving has not taken off in any way shape or form

I don't mention it in the quote i just do it automatically as it doesn't cost a lot of time or money. I like to tell the client afterwards that we fitted the drainage so they are conforming to regs. Most times i get an extra ton handed as a bonus and of course i have to give 20 back :;):
