right guys, before you see the photo, some background.
Back in 2008 i was asked to quote to lay a new patio , using injun stone, as well as some other work.
Did not get the job as i was £2000 dearer.
Guys start the job, which should have been a three week job, and six weeks later they are still there.
by the end, one labourer was pointing the paving, mixing the mortar up in a bucket as he went!
A year later i get a call to say the pointing has failed, could i price to re point the lot.
Scraped out the old using nothing more than a broom, and repointed as best i could with easipoint. £1000 gone.
then i need to finish off the pond area, as they didn't do it, as well as some other minor works. another £600 gone.
Then i get a call to say he wants a line cut next to the house and shingle put in, as the wall looks damp.
So i oblige today, and i could not believe my eyes at how the paving had been laid!......
as you can see, i can get my arm right under the slab, and the mortar block ontop of the slab is an example of the depth and amount they used on each corner (its nearly 4" thick!)
now of course there is little supporting the remaining cut flags, so if you walk on them, they could lift up. its the easipoint holding them down now!

Same goes for us. I priced a driveway (bitmac) back along, went to a property next door to it this week to do a dropped kerb - noticed the work had been done.
Apparently someone else was £2000 cheaper than us.......and it shows.......we had to giggle looking at the edging blocks going up and down like a whores drawers and the fact the new bitmac had been dusted to death, obviously hiding something!! One of the lads remarked that "It looked like there had been a car crash on the new drive!" he wasn't far from the truth either.
