Minging :(.
Looks like some of the ideas they threw up in the seventies ( and were subsequently ripped up in the eighties) :D

the workmanship looks superb, would I be right in thinking the border is made up of black limestone cut to size and round coloured pebbles bedded into a cement bed ?

I think it looks good. Fits in well with the house and garden. It's a design you don't see anywhere, obviously taken a great deal of care doing the work.

I've seen that design, or something incredibly similar, somewhere else - at Hampton Court a few years back I think. A little voice in my head is telling me the designer was Gurney Summat, but I could be totally wrong.

If I get time later, I'll have a look through the old photies.....

I really like it and the planting is mature and glossy enough to carry it off although the flag on edge planter on the right is a bit of a let down. It would be interesting to see in normal daylight that photo is taken just before dusk I'm sure it's much brighter when the paving is dry too. I could never find a client with the money to pay for the labour on that although it's a good way of making cheap materials look more expensive.
Can't see it from my house

it shows off someones personality, obviously in the dramatic arts. would like to see the rest of the house. i agree Pablo the flag on edge is a let down. it is, or looks like a very high step. i expect the photo had to be taken early to give the guy,( Christopher Lee) time to get back in his coffin :;): nice piece of work.
