Indian sandstone problems - Staining of slabs and mortar removal

I recently did a pressure wash clean up of an Indian Sandstone patio. The patio has cleaned up very well, it was covered in black goo (I believe its called Honey Fungus) from nearby Lime trees. However, the clean up has revealed other problems and hopefully someone on here may have tips or tricks to solve them. Firstly, there are several large marks (up to 3/400mm across which appear to be spillages from probably a barbecue (grease/fat) or drink spills (possibly red wine), the tenants are long gone so cannot shed any light on what was spilt. Does anybody know what may remove these spills, they do appear to have "soaked in" to the stone and no amount of pressure washing will remove them. Secondly, the pointing was poorly done and the pressure wash has removed a fair amount of it, is VDW the best product to use to repoint as the patio will need washing again next year after the Limes have done their worst, we can't remove them, they're TPO'd.

Can you post a photo of the staining?
If it is grease/ bar-b-q fats you won't get it out with just pressure washing.
