i was saddened when he told me he had bought reclaimed rustics, they are not the finest of bricks when brand new
plus these were 68mm whereas the ones in his house are 65mm
added up to an 9 hour day on a saturday

I like the stretcher pattern on that paving. It means the joints do not get thrown out. Its exactly what we have to do this week! never laid them like that before, so will be interesting
We have an awkward job, using an access road that goes to the back of peoples houses and garages to access a garden(no side access) and people are starting to get arsey, almost as if its their road and they own it. think its a bit of jealousy tbh
London stone dropped off the slabs and some woman came out and took details of the lorry "in case her fence got damaged".

LOL
its the little green devil on her shoulder
I needed a Hiab drop on this one so butterfields did this stone, those pallet line drivers need a kick in the ......
we found with the 560 840 gauge that if you off set each row by 140 mm it still looks fairly random
laid 3 packs today just some cuts and border detail tomorrow
Image

then the dreaded pointing

just as a side note laying them like this alerts you straight off to mis sized flags

had a fair few 295 by 295s that should have been 275 square, also some 560's were only 540 long

on 65 metres we used 14 tonnes of type 1 and 8 tonnes of grit sand and 36 bags of dust, plus 10 litres of sbr

as luck would have it pablo it worked exactly 10 courses :;):
ahh wait a minute ,who built that garden wall ?

TBH when we set it out i didnt give it a thought
the front pavement line was 350mm out of parallel with the houses, hence the herringbone tegula

but when i measured the side and the wall was 5700 off the house,i could have cried :)
