i think the father and son are a couple of eejits
typical northerners, cant see the wood for the trees

50% of a million pound is £1/2 mil
50% of nothing is £0

they were so inflexible with bannatyne and co onboard they would make something
as it stands the idea will be robbed off them and changed around

maybe i am missing the point but i have seen groundsmans barrows with extra high sides??

but its a good enough idea

god help them

he stood with his arms folded in a very negative manner, and spoke with a I know it all tone of voice, even after Peter Jones asked them if they were wanted to make money or were just interesed in equity, they still couldn`t grasp what was going on, old father yorkie started barking that the most equity the dragons would get would be 10% nothing more,
the pair of clowns even turned down an offer of getting two dragons on board,

I am still baffled as to why they went on there with that crappy attitude
its not about ideas ,its about executing ideas
the macdonald brothers had the idea
Ray kroc bought it for $2.7million in 1961 and turned it into what it is today
bebo,myspace,friendreunited
remember them?
all great ideas but facebook is where its at on social media
I wish them the best but their *invention* looks very easy to copy and knock up for 10 bob a time in china

simon mayo's friday show has a innovative ideas slot and the wheel barrow thingymagib was on there last year. Also on a few weeks ago was the lady with the waliking stick holder. I think the dragon's missed a good opportunity with her. My wife does physio in the community and reckon's elderly people have a massive problem with trying to retrieve a fallen stick, massive injuries. Duncan might need one soon, he in hospital with heart attack

I watched it last night and I didnt think they were that bad. To be fair to the father he was well out of his comfort zone and he just had a knee jerk reaction to Duncans offer for half the business. All the dragons then went on the attack and he didnt really stand a chance from there

The only reason they went on there was for the PR. As was clear from the beginning the Dad wasn't going to be making any kind of deals. It was ridiculous only giving away such a small percentage making it almost impossible for one of the dragons to actually make money on their investment, seeing as the margins would be quite low with a product like that.

Also don't get why they don't see that having a dragon invest in you means so much more than having the financial backing. The contacts that they have are worth their weight in gold, they could have that product on the shelves of the major retailers in a matter of days. Obviously they should have taken the deal or if they were really clever taken the deal on the show, but before signing any contract, pull out, leaving the public to think that you still have a dragon involved with your company. Although personally, I would have done the deal for 50% and have all their contacts/experience.

Its a shame that the program has gone downhill, the first few series used to be really good. Now, its just turning into more of a reality show where they only put people on there who will be entertaining and then you get the people who have absolutely no intention of getting an investment and just want to advertise to a couple of million people for free

Oh well, maybe they will do alright but its not exactly going to be difficult for the bigger boys to copy and they will be able to price them out of the market.

like i said a bit of tarp 600mm wide and 2.5m long isnt going to cost a lot to produce
plus as Sean rightly says tonne bags are ten a penny (i have given loads to stables and landscapers)
I am still buying Richard evan's paving markers/chalks but cant help feeling that someone like theo or duncan were involved they would have them on travis perkins shelves in short order
