ive got to have the shell up roof on for end of september so anything that'll speed us up is a plus, plus if youve got it in the yard might as well use it, the block grab has been one of the best things weve ever bought, makes moving packs of 4" and 6" blocks or bricks so easy

catch up
had a wet week
attempting to stop the polysterene bead insulation, drilled into the cavity every 200mm and inserted 2 cans of spray foam, still had 15 bags of beads, what a mess
the front wheel bearing off my navara, fubared indeed
the guy we did the fencing and turf has had his pic drive installed, had a company up from surrey to do it, theyd done his old house. to be fair and im no lover of pic theyve done a good job, plenty of grip and good colouring.
soiled it up
gotta love genie lifts two 5m beams in, big girls these 400kg each, 350mm concrete filled bearing pillars.
one for tony, 13 packs of block direct load, 50p a block for 100mm 7 newton. covered ready for the bricklayer, nowt worse then wet blocks.

Nice work Giles. Did a job back in 2006, the Olaf Melburg site, had to load the second floor of the apartment block with the internal block work. The agent was going to get a crane in when I told him we could load it from one corner using a grab and the labourers could trolley them off across the bison beams. Worked like a charm. Did teach the ground workers not to put the kerbs in so early as I popped them out getting to the lift. Was a 17mtr boom and ,by time it was clear of the beams and ready to land, the boom was 3/4 extended and the outriggers were down.

on the big 16 ton js130's its alright all the way even at full reach and across the tracks if your steady if you drop it fast not that you would you can get it to bounce.
tony those strong boys are made by our fabricator out of 12mm plate, the standard 4mm ones bend like feck i dont like them
we couldnt needle it as the "presidents room" above was still in use, just been told there are 3 teams at home on saturday so need to board it off now so they can use that changing room.
we had 4 strong boys on the outside and 4 acros on planks on the joist on the inside
and the brickie hasnt showed yet......
tony we are lucky that the cemex block factory is only 5 mile sup the road from our yard or 10 miles from the job so direct loads are super cheap. i'll have had 39 packs of blocks, 8 brick and 7 packs of 150mm dense by the time we are done.

we are doing a big extension on the back and re doing the landscaping etc, its a dark damp corner everything mossed up and they'd fitted decking when it was built in 2000. possible the worst choice its like an ice rink.
originally we were going in the back with the 16 tonner sat at the top acting as a crane to lower minis and we bought a 1000l crane skip. but the rd at the pack is single track, mean backing tractor and trailer up it and the neighbours are rio and ronnaldo still as a house up it so we decided to go in the front, which was fun hehe.
getting near the end, just the landscaping and internal finishing touches and teh car port roof to go.
