Bluesox, By your name Id guess your in Halifax? I dont do Tarmac myself but always subcontract to M Stead and Sons http://www.msteadandsons.co.uk/ they always do a good job (Huddersfield Based). Im West Yorkshire based and for a standard block paving job we would be around £3300+vat. Id be wary of anyone quoting below £3000+vat as its very difficult to scrape a living below that so shortcuts are likely to happen.

the problem is as we all know half the money is in the ground
the drains ,the tegula kerbs etc
are all time consuming,
the gang doing loads round my way at the minute are just breaking up the original drive dropping 10 tonne of sand on it ,screeding it and blocking it
they then haunch up to the block
using grit sand and cement
I dont want to be the cheapest,I want to be the best
