Hi
These paving (pressed concrete)slabs were laid on a bed of mortar and initially we were pleased with the result. Some 2 or 3 weeks later there was an unsightly change.
I know about efflorescence but some of these flags look very strange and have what looks like the dye has run down the flag.
After complaint the manufacturer has offered to refund us the cost of the flags but not the cost of our labourer and materials.
Do you think it is efflorescence and it will eventually vanish or is it something else.
Many thanksImage

They're Bradstone Weathered Riven Spring Buff Paving via B and Q at £3.50 each, although they were 3 for 2 at point of purchase.
What is release oil...I assume it's what it sounds like, oil used to ease release from the mould?

It was the manufacturer Bradstone, although BandQ are actually processing the refund (if we accept it) Bradstone are offering it as a gesture of goodwill (not going to accept they're at fault I guess)
My concern is Bradstone says its efflorescence which I believe will disappear with time but if it's anything else I will take further action, just needing some ideas of what the problem is.

Second case i have seen against bradstone for these very stones. They asked me to price up a replacement patio for the same issue, i would want bradstone to pay to have the lot relaid if it were mine.

Bradstone your quality control sucks. I increasingly believe your products cannot be trusted.

That's interesting..when you say they I assume you mean the houseowner...or do you mean Bradstone themselves?
I think I will be going down the same route

Even more interesting..was it the same issue with the paving i.e. these horrible brown runs? - I'm not going to quote you :)
They just need to know that I know

I dont think that is efforessence, just bad quality paving. The fact that they have offered to refund the flags shows that they know they are in the wrong. I would be pushing them to get the whole job relaid
