I have been quoted by three contractors for tarmac
fifty one square meters
To include excavation
Garden 33 square meters
Side path nine square meters
Back path nine square meters
The quote for all work is £2400 with Vat
What would be a reasonable price for block paving for the same area and conditions?

Is that the cheapest quote or were they all in that ball park. I think that's very cheap possibly too much so and would be worried about the quality of workmanship. Ballpark the very cheapest block will be £28m2 ish inc vat but base prep and kerbs will be on top of that. Regional variations can be huge but I'm in probably the cheapest area in the UK and that's a cheap price here.
Can't see it from my house

All three quotes where for £2400 exactly
From reputable companies who do contract work for local councils In West Yorkshire
So they must be working out the tarmac price at £50 per meter with excavation work
I was also quoted £25 per square meter just for tarmac laying and no excavation work

if there are no ics and the kerbs are already there and the levels are correct then you can do a drive in a day
but this mob do every drive in a day
I know you can get similar stuff chris ,but even chelsea setts by bretts are still around £15 a metre
i include the VAT because its highly unlikely these people are VAT registered
here are 2 cheeky chappies I found on LBCs website

kuts if you work on price alone you are pishing in the wind
wetry and do every job to the best we can
we might only get 95% but thats still 45% better than these clowns
I did my own drive this week in tegulas, argent with kerbs, dug out 250mm etc, proper job
I reckon wages plus material cost me £70 perm metre
thats with my time free +no profit
go figure
