How long between sealing and when it started to rain?
Also can you let me know what the stone is, because the hardness of the material will have a direct bearing on the answer to your question.
I know you were reluctant to name supplier before, if its 30mm then its definately imported stone,but what stone is it?

Looks like yellow mint sandstone to me. It is softer than the kota sawn sandstones but nowhere near as soft as things like rainbow or teak wood. Nice choice of stone !
You'll be wanting to give it 3 coats of sealant for a proper job. Obviously we cant rely on the weather in this country but you really need a couple of dry days to get the sealing done. Sealant and wet weather don't mix very well
Can you post some pictures of the finished job, would be good to see?
