I think it could be a good tool for a lot of guys on here who do drives, patios, fencing, t-mac, construction etc... if you use it as a latest work/project page.

When the happy client is singing your praise and settling the invoice on completion tell them to add/like your page to their page, if they have 50/100 friends of a similar demographic it beats any thankyou letter or A board sat on the roadside.

What you have to remember about faceache is not to look at it from your point of view, ie traditional sales etc. but to look at as you might get a view off Auntie Maureen who would no be looking to have her patio done at 10pm on a Saturday night when she is surfing FB, just as your page/ad pops up.
You'll reach a wider audience as your in someone's 'safe' zone, you're not ramming leaflets through their letterbox.

If you have a lot of followers, and a sharp thinking mans brain you can generate publicity. The latest method being the "click like for a chance to..." then anyone who clicks like is showing the picture to everyone else they know, one persons actions puts your advert infront of potentially milions. A picture of your company logo photshopped across a pair of tits will do it every time

Some great points here, I think I'll do a FB page sometimes - the "Like" feature from happy customers is a great idea.

As ever flowjoe is so fast & ***in' funny.
I created an fbook "page" couple of months ago for our small sunday village cricket side. Good thing, is appears in Google, because it's title is now logged (I think)
The pain (I find) - is when somebody writes a terrific & funny match report, it gets shunted over to the right, reduced to a couple of visible lines. As admin of the page , I don't seem able to make it big & mainstream across the page ?
If I post something however, I can do what I like with it?
Cheers all. :(

Not sure about Twitter myself, I'm on it (after much convincing from my friends) and really don't see the point. I'm not sure how it could benefit a business, it seems to be more useful for celebs for keeping their profiles up. Facebook can be good though. Like LPD said, everytime you 'like' a page or a photo, it is beamed to all your friends. The local Peugeot garage where I'm from in Cheshire recently did something clever where they bought a lottery ticket and said that if you 'like' their page they will give you a share of any winnings. It attracted quite a lot of attention, I ended up clicking on it and I've never had anything to do with the garage so it does reach a very wide audience. Bit gimicky maybe but it's all about about getting your name out there I guess!

I bet the DJs love that! Oh no...not you again...
Can't knock them though, it's a good idea!
Don't know if anyone watches 'Rude Tube' (show about the most watched Youtube videos of the moment) but loads of companies do these brilliant viral ads where they get some kind of weird and wonderful video to trend worldwide and then there'll be a banner for their company in the background, or a link to their website at the side of the video. I think it's all too easy to blend in to the white noise that is advertising nowadays, good to do something that will grab people's attention!
