Sloped driveway paving challenge

Hi!

I have a challenge with attempting to fix my asphalt driveway's sloping edge. On both sides my asphalt is getting eaten up by weeds but the middle is in great shape. I intended to do some solder coursing down both sides, but were the left side would meet the existing patio, I have a gradual sloping issue to design around. I'm desperately looking for some advice. I've had a contractor in to look at this too and he's off trying to think up a plan as well.

The solder coursing would be about 12" wide (2 bricks wide) from the garage next to the Interlock, along the lawn to the end.

Firstly, where the driveway meets the garage it's about 1.5"-2" higher than the patio, but slopes down to almost meet the patio height, then off to the end of the lane way.

Secondly, the edge of the asphalt slopes off (it's higher in the middle) and it's about 12" wide.

The 2 brick coursing would replace the edge slope, but the height where it meets the garage means I have 2 options (that I can think of):

1) Just lay 2 bricks down the lane way and follow the slopes of the existing drive way. If I need to cut bevels underneath to make the surface of the brick touch edge to edge, do it.

Issue: How will this look? Is it possible/reasonable to do?

2) Create a sloping mini-retaining wall from the garage (matching the height of the asphalt) down to the patio and on.

Issue: Paving bricks aren't that thick. Like 2 3/8" high in my case. That's probably not as much buried height as necessary to ensure it's edge won't eventually slope over.

I can post pictures if it'll help.

Before anyone says that the main patio has to be raise, it's a big patio with a 2 step raised area for the front door so major adjustments aren't reasonable. The garage was an addition (long before I moved in) and the driveway was sloped to meet it's entrance.

Well I was trying to avoid having to go back and forth and lose everybody in a series of partial answers, while still trying to solve the problem. Sorry if it was too lengthy.

Definition in asphalt doesn't show up well in photos, so I drew the diagram. It included a top, side and front view of the slopes.

I've just taken a bit of liberty and looked at the pictures of Japan I was going out with my wife for a pizza tonight but have just made a reservation at the japanese restaurant instead given how hungry those pictures made me feel.

chris i would use a row of KS kerbs if you are that worried,cut a line in the bitmac with a stihl saw then dig down and concrete your kerbs in
I would question why bother?
the bitmac on the drive looks like an overlay to me
