Hello all,
I have a gravel drive with cotswold buff on it. It is edged with bricks on the entrance and the bricks are about 20mm higher than the gravel. The gravel keeps coming off in the tyres of the car and also getting pushed off the drive when cars leave. This means that sometimes gravel gets onto the pavement which i then have to sweep back on which is getting a pain each time I have to do this when I drive the car off.
I am worried that someone might "slip" on a piece of gravel and subsequent problems that could ensue.
Is there any bonding agent / adhesive that can be sprayed on to the drive to make the gravel bond together and not come off in the tyres?
Would making the edging on the entrance to the drive higher help the gravel stay on - I am guessing this would have little effect on the gravel in the tyres.
Day in day out I see gravel on the pavements outside peoples gravel drives however a neighbour was successfully sued recently when someone "slipped" on gravel that had washed off their drive. I would like to try and prevent this.
Many thanks
macgrl

there's no product available that can be applied to driveway gravel to do what you want. If the stone you mentioned is the same as the one I'm familiar with it's the wrong type for a driveway anyway because it's too soft and turns to sand. You could install a block paved threshold to give you some kind of buffer between the gravel and the footpath.
Can't see it from my house

Thanks so much for your replies. I do have a slight block paved threshold about 1m deep from pavement to start of gravel. I think that what I am going to have to do is to raise the edging to 30/40 mm and get a brush to sort out any escapees.
I must admit that the gravel hasn't been ground down very much through use and it seems random when it gets stuck in the tyres or not...some days loads comes off and other days nothing.
I have channel drainage on the edge of the boundry which I suppose I could take off the cover but then that might create a trip hazard..the fun just never stops lol
Again thanks very much for the help..much appreciated

"Resin Bonded" requires the application of specialist adhesive onto quality concrete or tarmac then casting aggregate (right size, right angularity, right hardness....etc) into the wet resin. The adhesive holds the aggregate in place. 1-3mm thick.
"Resin Bound" is mixed and then trowelled onto sound concrete or tarmac. 15-20mm thick.
Appearance and cost vary.
If you want samples and guide prices please contact me.
