how strange, i would say the mbw wacker and dynapacs i have used are pants compared to my belle

WOW that's a very big statement to make, we had the vibrating plate debate a while back where I offered to take on the belle range of vibrating plates against my MBW and the offer was declined

My local hire lot do mbw's (gp1800) and i used to have a dynapac Lf75 hence having a few uses of each.

The dynapac was old and heavy so i'll discount it as a modern one is probably miles better.

My biggest problem with the MBW was that it had the older type handle where it pivots from the top of the steel base plate this makes it very poor at turning whereas the belle i have pivots off the frame at the top meaning you can fold the handle over and use the frame cradle to turn it with pretty much a zero turning circle.

The other noticable difference is the comfort while using it. The anti-vibe on the belle seems noticably better.

It's not fair to compare compaction force as the belle i have is heavier and there is i'm sure a higher spec mbw which would be its direct comparison.

At the end of the day who gives a toss whether its belle/mbw/bomag or whatever, they will all compact Crushed stone, you may have to give it a few passes when using one wacker than if you where to use another, thats all

Go on ebay spend £500.00 on a belle/bomag/mbw and you cant go wrong, i tend to buy stuff from new now though.

its better to buy once good than 3 times bad ,there are alot of old uns on here .right tool for right job is a winner every time we know better to buy good second hand than new crap ???

bought an old bomag at a farm auction ,looked scruffy but no leaks or anything ,one other bidder took it home for 45quid filled it up ,started ,still got it . only went to the auction to buy a topper (made to much money) but for £45 it was worth punt
