Where in the system to fit a silt trap

Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

I am building a soakaway to relieve some of the water pressure in the garden created by our ducks and have now got the necessary materials:

100mm land drainage piping
Aquacell units
Geotextile

I have ordered a silt trap and am not sure whether to fit it close to the soakaway or close to the area wher the ducks are most active and muddy - dimensions are roughly 50/50 - 7m sq of muddy area and 7m sq of lawn under which the rst of the pipe will run to the soakaway (slightly downhill) - overall slope I can manage in the system is only about 5% (50mm/m).

Any other advice would be most welcome

Thanks

put it in an accessible area before the soakaway, wants to be close enough but not to close so if you forget to empty it, it doesnt fill the cells up.

alternately eat the ducks and enjoy your lawn :)

Many paths can lead to riches, few in sunlight, some in ditches
