Driveway questions! (again!) - What to do with my scabby drive!?!

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

Hi Guys,

So it's the age old question...what to do with my drive! I have posted a pic and some sketches - see my link, please excuse the campers (my hobby!) but you should be able to see the layout.

I just dont know what would be best :/ we want something low maintenance (like everyone does!), can withstand two vehicles ( small vans - a vw caddy and a berlingo) that are used everyday, and a vw camper. Please note I HATE weeding so what is going to be hassle free? Every type of application seems to have it's pro's and con's - I'm stuck! So would love you're expert opinions!

I plan on reducing the size of the area to be paved by putting in some lawned / decorative stoned areas - but the size is roughly 100m2.

So I guess it might be useful to see if anyone is local to me, that is reputable and not cowboys like the many I see advertising their 'skills'! lol

I'm in South Yorkshire - inbetween Doncaster / Rotherham / Barnsley.

I look forward to your advice and suggestions...

Cheers!

You dont mention budget but with so many toys on the drive way im going to assume cost isnt a big issue. Go for resin bound. With a decent border. Make your gaff stand out from the crowd, low maintenance

are they council slabs?
maybe take them up and relay on 100mm of concrete with a decorative border of block paves in a different colour?
without a budget who knows?

Photo showing the house would help too.

Yes you can lay Resin Bound which'll satisfy SuDS as well.

You'll need to remove what's there and lay a tarmac or concrete base first.

We have approved contractors who'll be happy to survey and price. Email me if you want me to arrange that for you.

i believe the gaffer has no problem with simeon or other manufacturers mentioning their products in context.
its when joe bloggs from boggs stone comes on as "simple simon " and says " have you heard about bloggs stone? its the nutz!" that big T gets the hump

Yeah thats fine thats tonys view, mine is that simeon never contributes and only comes to sell or plug, never helps unless he is helping himself, the rest of us are here helping the public without reward..
