i wanted to hand dig but they got the 3 tonner and 1 ton dumper in
now we have to replace 18m of closeboard fencing, next doors path plus the garden is annihilated
the lock blocking is all going anyway, but it is rubbish
very poor access job,we have a storage work area of 1 m by 5 m for everything
job is in a close and the whole close is double parked nearly all the time, every delivery takes an hour due to cars being moved etc
looks like it may be one for the ducks today

I think he has enough on his plate at the moment knitting a voodoo doll of Giles :D

If it had been me who posted that, he'd be piping up even though we drive our 10mm 4.5m sheets with a hammer and in a continuos wall that it was a death trap I should be ashamed and arrested instantly. that guy in wet trench with no shuttering or ladder is even risky for me though.

Would have been cheaper to mini pile and ring beam it with all that muck out and concrete in.

Most ppl now don't post work in progress pics or they select completed ones so any benefit that might have come from pointing out risks has been lost due to the general condescending tone or attacking nature of replys. just results in less content on here ergo less members.

Point them out but be helpful and educational in doing so, Or as they say let those without sin cast the first stone...

If you can posts your own true work in progress pics and let's be helpful and educate not petty, often no comment is passed on the work posted

We are super busy at mo, just picked up a 60k extension that has to be done in 6 weeks for new changing and showering facilities, gonna be a fun one. The big extension continues a pace, just bought a post knocker for the 3 ton digger for fiddly jobs got two jobs with it next week that will pay for it.

Aye gotta agree with Giles the stuff that gets talked about on here after a picture is posted annoys me a bit......we all know about HSE on the big jobs...small private jobs are completely different, common sense comes into play....no need to keep banging on about it, if you want to do that go find a HSE forum

that a lump of a job danny
nice work too :)
I thought mick might have mentioned the wireless set and the coke can :;): .
we keep getting those same class B s and they are rubbish
how are you supposed to cut a batt from one when they have 4 holes?
we used to get ones with 3 holes and you could easy snap a batt but i broke 5 bricks with those the other day cutting 1 :(
a little tip for your barrow run
if you cut lengths of half inch batten and screw them onto the USB board at about 450 centres it gives you a bit of grip when its wet (and it has been)

back on to another question that comes up about matching block paving we took up some blocks from here
Image

and cleaned and relaid them here

Image

the client wanted the blocks at the front of the house to match
think we took up 12 M to get 8 usable metres due to cuts, border etc
did the last bit of snagging yesterday had to make good around the new gates
Image

Image
we didnt install the gates ,Ace fencing did and they look very tidy
the only thing was they cut the old 9 inch posts off 10mm below finished block paving level
cheers anthony
took us 2 hours to get them out
cheers LLL :)

Edit

Trying to build a community attract new members and grow the forum, it's a pretty fixed population here, like when local joined he got shredded a new arse hole as tony says for things like a radio etc hardly a warm welcome.

Been a definite drop off in work posted up as everyone doesn't want to get crucified

It's not only me that wants to see the cabin grow, other users feel this way and expressed concerns in private,

there is fact
and there is opinion
we all have opinions on various things (as it should be)
but facts are facts
quite a varied bunch on here and there arent really 2 regulars who do exactly the same type of work.
so i find a bit of banter and seeing things from a different angle can be beneficial
i have learned a lot from this forum and site and hope to continue doing so
but we are all human ,and to er is human
BTW just spent over a grand with plastics express great tip from cookie
saved us 300 quid on our previous supplier
little things like that make it a winner
cheers LLL
