Hi All
My mate has a 6" step up to his garage and uses metal ramps but they are a pain.
I want to put a concrete ramp there that will be 6" high and about 13" wide, the whole length of the ramp will about 3.5m.
I also plan on putting in a scaffold tube for drainage along the length.
It is in a lane and going onto subsoil/tarmac.
How do i go about doing this ?? and how do i work out amount of material ??
Was thinking of using 3/4 all in (3/4 course chippings/sand), plus digging down an inch or so with a mix of 5/1 ??
Any advise ??
Thanks
Advice please - concrete ramp into garage ? - Amount/mix ?

for a ramp we would normally excavate and shutter the leading edge, your concrete needs to be strong and not too wet
it really needs to be 150mm thick at all points or it will fail
for a 150 drop i would normally make the ramp around 600mm wide but its up to you
1 bulk bag of ballast and 6 bags of cement would be ample for this

Cheers LLL
It is in a narrow council lane and i doubt i could take it out that far without complaints !!
I will excavate the front edge of the ramp rather than it going to 'nothing' so that the thinnest part will be at least 15mm.
If that makes sense..lol
So how many shovels off ballast to cement should it be ??
