it has for sure, welcome to our world
first time i've ever hand balled a large volume of sand or stone.
2 bulk bags of type 1, 2 bulk bags of sand. pee'ing with rain. everything is heavier in the rain. then i noticed that my huge pack of indian riven limestone came on a pallet, which my pallet truck didn't fit. It was 250 yards from my garden. FML.
2-3 bags will do it.
At least the slabs are light. Bulk bags are easier to shovel if you cut them.
every darn book you look in shows jet black limestone, and light coloured pointing......Hence why she wants buff. To be honest, i couldn't be fussed with way.
Quick one though, will 10mm pointing be OK. my paving is L shaped, the the top of the L being my pathway. Its 900 wide, and is in line with my gate and front door. 4 flags ( 900x600,600x600,600x290,290x290) Hence using 10mm joints will allow me to catch the 900mm wide path nearly dead on......
my scale drawing seems to work ok, with only a few cuts needed.
Weather looks sensible for laying it tommorrow, final whack tonight ( been walking on it for 4 days now) whacker goes back in the morning, mixer comes at the same time.
you may find the tolerance on the black limestone sizes will vary plus or minus a few millimetres so by pointing in a light colour the wider joints will be more visible to the eye with a wider gap

I'm ordering some sandstone from Londonstone today or tomorrow, could see about getting 3 bags thrown on one of the pallets for you and you collect from my yard?
Going to go over my notes tonight, figure out exactly what I need and place order tomorrow, if it can fit on one of my pallets then it should save you £60.
