Tarmac puddles?

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

Hi
I have just had a drive done with tarmac and I have one small problem. I get a puddle outside my garage doors and I have to wade through it to get the car out. I am not bothered about having a puddle as I expected it to be honest as its in an arkward area to get to so its not the contractors fault and bringing him back is not really possible

My question is.......

Underneath the tarmac which is about 1.5 inches thick is a 6 inch or so thickness of hardcore. Could I drill down through the tarmac and on through the hardcore to enable drainage? I only want to do a about six half inch drain holes and then cover with a six inch drain cover, is this idea practical or have I overlooked something?

Thanks very much for any help.

It's your driveway, so you can do what you want, but the contractor really ought to have come up with a solution for you that avoided any puddles, no matter how small.

If you do drill through the new bitmac, you need to realise that the holes, and the underlying sub-base, will eventually silt-up and you'll be back to square one. It might take a year, or it might take 10, but it will eventually silt-up as sure as eggs are eggs.
