Any suggestions. Not using geofix, so just planned to mix a batch with sand+cement, but i need to work out a colour etc

any sand i get from round here seems to be fairly reddish in colour, so i'll be needing a dye or white sand or something. i've worked out i'll be needing to mix a 100kg batch

Any suggestions as to

a: which colour to go for, black limestone....15mm joints

b: what type of dye to use if i opt to use a dye

c: sand choice........

d: Anything i missed ?

As always, i genuinely appreciate the input I receive on this forum, makes a change to get info from a decent bunch of lads!

Dye will fade in a year. I would go with easi point dark grey.

White sand+cement ???? the mrs is after a buff colour by the sounds of things.

hard to imagine what it'll look like with dark grey !!!!! Is easy point a brush in/water job? Looking at the state of a mates limestone paving with geofix, i'm staying well away from that. the water pools in his joints, and next winter, soon as it freezes, he'll have issues !!!!

Personally I would use a gun applied jointing product by Easipoint so the colour of the pointing would be consistent, easier and quicker to apply in the joints without staining the surface of the paving and last a lot longer

Nice one ! I'll drop them a line, and see if i can find some nearby.

Weather has been BRUTAL the past week, i laid my type 1 on thursday, during which it rained for 12 hours straight. plan to lay the flags on monday, point on wednesday ( want to leave them a good time to ensure they are rock solid)

first time i've ever hand balled a large volume of sand or stone.

2 bulk bags of type 1, 2 bulk bags of sand. pee'ing with rain. everything is heavier in the rain. then i noticed that my huge pack of indian riven limestone came on a pallet, which my pallet truck didn't fit. It was 250 yards from my garden. FML.
