never laid a brick in my puff. But then again, i'd never fitted a central heating system when i di my own, and 3 years down the line, its still working perfectly well.....
i'll practice for a few hours every night before i build. Just need to find a nice plan, want a smoker and a bbq in one, got permission from the mrs to use 3m2 for bbq/firepit/ lads stuff.

I no understandy whats the purpose of that Giles there's enough worksurfaces to feed an army and no where to cook for them. Is it just a fireplace from a design point of view it's too busy and sited badly you could be 3ft from that fire but because it's exposed with no shelter you'll still be cold. It screams new money but if more thought went into it and it was toned down and better sited it would be a lovely addition. I've built lads of pits etc over the years and the concept is great but I doubt if most see their full potential or even get used more than twice a year.
Can't see it from my house

thats a beast !!!!
i'd love a smoker, but building one in brick is going to be hard, as it needs a door !!! at the very least im building a 4 food wide, 2 food deep brick bbq, with all the metal work in t316, as my fabricator friend has offered to do it for a rack of ribs !
still, i have a plan, money, and time. this means anything is possible.
