Rainwater down pipe onto ground - Alternative needed to soakaway

The rainwater downpipe at the front of the house empties onto the ground a couple of inches from the wall of the house. I can't get 5m away from the building to put a soakaway in. A privet hedge runs along the front and down the side and there is a strip of flower bed running parallel to the path to the front door. Would it be possible to use a drip irrigation system to discharge the rainwater into the soil under the hedge and the flower bed. There is a small brick wall in front of the privet so would I be just relocating the problem? I think the cost of connecting it the road drainage system would be prohibitive.

Can't it be piped around the back? Maybe some pictures of the area.

Sadly no as we are end of terrace and there is an alley by the side of the flat. I've got a photo, but am having difficulties getting it posted.

You can't connect it into the road drains, end of.

I'd just pipe it as far away from the house as possible, towards the hedge. Hedges love water, you have a natural soakaway!

You dont say what the problem is Daisykate ?, is the downspout draining more than one roof ?
