Hi all, I have just done my driveway in 20mm single size limestone angular chippings 4 inch deep on top of 4" scalping planings)subbase , these have whacked down to give a good flat surface , but my problem is our cars just sink down when setting off, I know now reading through the site that I have monumentally cocked up because this was a big job 240m2 and 40 ton of chippings , I was concentrating on good drainage in using a non binding gravel and thought the angular gravel would lock and pack down well but it wont as far as cars are concerned, my question is could i fix this by some how making it into a self binding gravel by adding grano dust or limestone fines etc , perhaps laying a crust over the top and whacking down or mixing the fines into the gravel just to make it less fluid , my soul has already been destroyed by this job and if i have to remove it all I think my poor excuse for a brain will fry itself. anyone any ideas or solutions , help Tony please. jim
If it can go wrong it will!

100mm of 20mm limestone is too much depth which is why your having problems
you need to remove the 100mm of 20mm limestone from the driveway and add 50mm more MOT type 1 sub base on top of the existing sub base and compact, then put back no more than 50mm of the 20mm lime stone and compact - there is no easier way I'm afraid
