Hi, hope you can help.
Work for a landscaper, taking calls, arranging plant, materials etc. Been a lurker for a few years and gained a lot of knowledge - so thanks to Brew Cabin and Paving Expert for all the advice.
Issue is we need 450x450mm raj green slabs similar to what is already on customer site (customer has 450x450 raj green slabs elsewhere in garden). As I've not found any phoning round suppliers, stone merchants etc ie told don't exist.
Is best option get 560x560mm and cut down to 450x450mm with saw to give 4 sawn sides?? Any ideas most welcome.

found this may be of help
it does say in the description 450x450 right at the very end, but when you go to select your size they arent there, may be worth a call?

Quite a few suppliers do a 450x 600 flag if you could source some of that then you'd only need to cut one side. Marshalls Dalestone is one that springs to mind. Raj green is a lovely flag but the colour now is totally different to what it used to be so it's unlikely you'll get it to match up. If you have a designer on board talk to them about workarounds like delineating the 2 areas with wide bands of block or sett paving through a narrow gap so that any colour and size difference whilst being noticable wouldn't matter so much and would possibly be a cheaper option.
Can't see it from my house

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.
Have checked the links. Now back at work today and my boss had some conversations yesterday. Likely to get 900 x 560 and 2 cuts should get 2 slabs. First though is rechecking customer slabs already down to find best match with samples and whether they are sawn or fettled edges. Also as Pablo says whether to delineate both areas.
Thanks again.

Checked a few sources for the 450x450 and could not find them anywhere. Sounds like you have come up with a plan to get them cut. If you do need to match a fettled edge then cut them from the back 2/3 of the way through and then break them with the handle of a lump hammer. This will give you a fettled edge.
The biggest problem you will face is getting the colour match. Colour of raj green is ever changing
cheers

HI..450x450mm natural stone slabs has never been a common size although it was offered in some ranges approx 5/6 years ago. From what i can remember Tarmac Toppave had that size in their range (who no longer exist) They were quite a large supplier nation-wide in many builders merchants including the well knowns like Travis Perkins, Jewsons etc etc
I agree Steve, the current batch of green we are getting has a lot more brown in than normal. Still very nice but important to show customers current batches.
