Dust suppression

I’m just about to embark on phase 2 of my DIY project, block paving the front garden. Having done the driveway last year, I had a lot of cutting to do, which obviously created a lot of dust.
I’m only a DIY’er and will be using a Makita 9 angle grinder for cutting. I realise that there are purpose made dust suppressing cutters, but I cannot justify the expense for one of these machines.
My question simply is, how can I best suppress the dust created by my grinder. Is it possible to use a hose to put a flow of water in the cutting area. However, as I’m using a electric grinder, is this probably not a good idea?
Any suggestions welcome.
Cheers

hire a saw, they measure the wear on the disk or you can get blades from £10-£350 depending on quality
if you are determined to use an electric grinder use a heavy industrial vacuum
