LLL...do you use the blue and gold hiremaster blade from obas?
I have been using them for the past 6 years, last 2 years with waterbottle, and have yet to find as good an all round blade as that, especially for the money. I have had one blade lose a segment whilst cutting hard concrete, apart from that, fantastic blades
I have also used obas blades for floor sawing (350mm) and again, quality product, was not impressed with a JCB floor saw blade I tried!

i blew obas out a while back because their customer service talked to me like an idiot and though i may be a cnut l am nobody's fool
obas were cheap and cheerful for general building stuff, but very happy with the speed and wear on the pulvex one
got to cut out a patio door tomorrow so will see how the pulvex gets on with bricks
cheers LLL

you cut angle iron with it? i always change to a metal disk for cutting, we did a test the other day on 8mm thick sheet piles, stihl saw and metal blade vs oxy-0ctecalin gas axe, gas axe won but not by much.
we use makita blades in ours just becuase we have loads of them, last one i got for the floor saw though was £350, but big 420mm size i'll look on tuesday what make it is.

Never cut steel if I can help it with a diamond blade, carbon blades are cheap, diamonds aren't!

the spectrum specifically says its for cutting hard materials and metal. did struggle a bit with 2" thick tooling steel bar though.Mikey_C wrote:i use a spectrum tx10r, don't cut any asphalt with it mind but on clay paviours, Indian stone, metal, its been good. about £60 inc vat each if you are buying 300mm (I use the 230mm, at £40 inc vat)
