I was a macrist bf850 man until my merchant stopped stocking them as it was only me and one other guy buying them cause everyone moaned they were too dear.

They now do 'Spectrum' which i have found are much slower but last well. My local hire outfit had a offer a couple of years back where you bought 12 edge blades and got a free ts400 saw? I never even considered buying an edge blade after that.

wouldnt read too much into that neo as stihl stockists have to move a certain number of units every year to retain their dealer status
so as my stihl dealer does ,when the time comes they shift units any way they can
this is where i have bought blades for the last 10 years

I've been using blades from Pulvex for the last 18 months, I used to use Marcrist but the Pulvex blade is at least as good and is half the price. www.pulvex.co.uk

there are lots of blades out there so summat has to be really special to turn our heads

I have met phill from pulvex and had lengthy discussions about dust extraction for smaller cutters, but have yet to use his blades I thought the was going to be a product test for some lucky brew cabin members but no feed back as yet (noony...) I will recommend tyrolt ( type & pic to follow) for clays as two blades have done 750m2 with plenty left for another 250m2 on them

not sure about the product test hagg?? news to me? i bought a blade last yr, and have just bought a couple more off him last week.
i think the fact i have bought again says they are decent blades, happy with ours thats for sure

We sent out blades for Pulvex last Autumn to selected contractors on the mailing list and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

Like Haggi, I've had long discussions with Phil from Pulvex and he's incredibly knowledgeable about blades and cutting in general. He used to work for a certain BIG distributor but set up on his own when he realised there was a market for quality blades at sensible prices backed up with top-notch tech s'port.

In fact, Phil's sponsored a new page on the main site all about how to ensure you;ve got a good blade. It's not just a plug for his own products, but is a well-balanced article about what to look for, what to avoid, and how to figure out what's gone wrong when a blade goes awry.

If you use diamond blades (and who doesn't?) it's well worth a read.
