im still unclear about all this permieable drainage, im pricecing a job for 50msq drive 15m of that is new going in to were ther lawn was,so the original drive and the new bit would they need some sort of drainage as it falls to the road and wot sort of drain , was thinking of eco channels going to a soakaway but told u carnt have a soakaway unless its 5m away from property which its not? please help confused.com

ps. or do we need to get planning involved.

my advice, if your asking those questions, as an apprentice you shouldn't be pricing anything, leave it to someone who knows what they are on about

I dont often agree with sean just for the fun of it, but this time we are on the same page. You dont have knowledge of the basics, what happens when things get complicated? You are the tradesmen have a go heros that the rest of us curse bacause you give us all a bad name

i know i have apprentise under my name , but my company is landscapers with have been in the game for 25 years now but were not clear on wot the rules and regs are on the suds drainage thats y i asked that question to see how u lot go about this buisness?

a linear drain going to a suitable soakaway is what you need
normally this drain runs where the drive and footpath will meet

at largerlout,,,,,, is it now a law that you need a drain to a soakaway to stop it going on to a footpath, dont want to do the job then find i need to rip it up, and does this law imply even if your changing a drive way like for like ?
