Hi
I am compacting a 150mm layer of MOT Type 1 for a residential driveway sub base (DIY project). The main site suggests:
Not suitable if under 1.8 T/m2
8 passes for a 1.8-2.1 T/m2 or
6 passes over 2.1 T/m2
However the wacker plate states 1200 daN, has a plate width of 400mm and weighs 70kg. How do I convert daN to T/m2 please?
Thanks
Matt

Just go over it 8 times, once in every direction

I just wack untill the wacker is bouncing nearly..then you know its at refusal, also find it compacts miles better if the MOT is damp.

id wack 75mm of mot 10 times, then top up 75mm of mot too 150mm and wack it another 10 times.
only wack your 35-50 mm of grit sand twice.
