Oil on indian sandstone im gutted

im gutted ive tried all sorts of stuff on it nothing to mad..

autosmart G101
bleach
gunk

patio looks nice and clean now but the oil stains are still very visable...

Try neat fairy liquid. Squeeze directly onto the oil stain and leave it... do not try to scrub off. Just leave it to soak in and let the natural rain wash away (if we ever get any)
Repeat this if it doesn't remove it..

This also applies for concrete block paving, drives etc whereby oil stains are obviously common

Tough one, i always suggest sand blasting if nothing else works, remove top surface of the stone might do the trick

Go to Steintec's website, the stuff you need is Weiss Extra KT.
It's not cheap but it will remove the oil stain. Leave it on for 24 hours but cover the area with polythene, you then just scrap off and I'd do a light bleach wash to the area, job done.

well i got some of this today, just need it to stop raining and dry out now...

That's the stuff Simon, what I do is after putting the gel on the stain, cover with some polythene or the like I secure it down with a couple of bricks. Leave it on for 24 hours, then it should have gone to a crust which you scrap up, some might still be damp, depends how thick you put it on. Then use the Grundringer stuff to clean, just follow all instructions.

ok well it was dry out on the patio today so i tried the above (WEISS EXTRA.KT) on a small area on my step... the oil stain has been on my patio for around a week now, also just so you all know my patio is "raj green indian sandstone" this is what it looked like



then here it is with the WEISS EXTRA.KT applied to the area



then one with it covered over with a carrier bag and a couple of bricks to hold that in place



my fingers crossed on this, and again many thanks to R&A Pressure Washing for telling me about this product...

i will try and get the next stage of photos up for you tomorrow ... weather pending lol

The only thing I would have done different would have been to make the coverage area a bit larger with the "plastic bag" so that the bricks weren't on top of the gel.

BTW if that's the size of your oil stain, Mate I wish the ones we did were that small, 20 linear meters is the worst oil stain we have done, and I had a mile+ paint stain removal at the end of last year.

Anyway let me know how you get on.

ok points taken this is just the small stain, i do have larger to do, and will improve my process on the next stain with what you have said.

It'll be interesting to see how the KT gets on. I had very impressive results last year using Resiblock OR on concrete block paving and it's just about the most impressive oil remover for CBPs I've seen to date.

I have used the KT on 2 jobs now both perfect, removing Olive Oil staining. For engine oil etc yes the Resiblock OR is about the best out there at the moment, also OT8 has it's uses.

Well its been near to 20 hours down so i decided to lift the bricks off and the bag it then looked like this


i then removed the rest with a scrapper it was still wet in places, and some old rag to wipe the scrapper clean as i went, once i was happy with most of the WEISS EXTRA.KT removed i gave the area a wash down with just warm water and a stiff broom, you can see the slabs wet in the next picture.



and then i took this last picture around an hour later when they looked dry



very very happy with the end result of this product the stain is not visable at all, the slight shading in the picture is the stone as its riven in places.

Thank you, it doesn't always dry-out in the 24 hour period, a lot depends on how thick you put the KT on, that result looks good to me.
