true, but that man was normally paid to throw the stuff in the skip. here he throws it in a crusher! plus not paying for the skips.

The stone is 50mm Yorkstone. Not sure what the price is TBH Cookie. They had to be hand cut and hand bull nosed whihc is very time consuming. We have been looking at a new CNC machine which will do it automatically but its going to be a good few months before we can even think about buying it.

Our stone cutting produces plenty of slurry which could be dried out and turned into dust but the machine costs about £20k,so no go there. So for the moment we are stuck with paying to get the slurry pumped out by the "stool bus"

What about separating out the different colours of stone and then running the output through a grader - you could create some really interesting “gravels that match the stone you sell. It is pity to use a nice stone just for a sub base.

nice machine ambient. Heard spares were a nightmare in terms of price and availability. I noticed it looks like you have added a platform the side of yours too!
nice to see riddling bucket prior to crushing. that makes all the difference and gives a cleaner end product

spares are a pain if not in stock usually takes two weeks but not broke down much in 18 months only replaced a feeder belt £200 and just been having trouble with electric fuel pump keeps packing in (hence the jump leads) pricewise cheaper than red rhino parts were and much better machine

We discussed it last week Ringi. Were planning to put the Yorkstone crush on the website and sell as Yorkstone chippings.

if you had the slurry go into a tank, you could dig it out and put it on hard standing and water would drain back in. i would think it be cheaper to put it in a skip than pay for it to go in a road tank. plenty of uses for it rarther than cart it away. just my thoughts duck :D

The slurry pit is about 1800mm deep, so we would need to invest in a digger to dig it out which we cant afford at the moment. The stool bus charge us £120 to pump out the slurry pit. It needs pumping about once every 4 weeks, so its the cheapest wway to do it at the moment.
