I used to lay it 3 large 2 medium 1 small, I now order 4 large 2 medium and 1 small, this is using the 240 x 160 160 x 160 and 160 x 120 sizes

having additional large blocks means you can acheive larger pieces when cutting in rather than having to use up what you have left which can end up being slips which as we know every on here don't like ???

From memory im sure marshals recommend a ratio of 18medium 13large 3small as that makes up 1m2. Now I use tobermore tegular that comes in a pack that’s designed to be machine laid, so never need to calculate ratio of blocks.

never keen on the little ones and they always seemed to be used as fillers so that a big one was on a cut
i quite like tegula herringbone with the 240 by 160 units

I like the herringbone using just the large ones too, only laid that once as its hard to convince customers to go with some thing different that looks really good. Ive laid another drive using just the large blocks and small blocks in a kinda herringbone pattern that looks really good, i'l see if ive got any pics of it saved anywhere
