Hi guys, the contractor I have spoken to about replacing my concrete drive with 65sq m of block paving has suggested using Castacrete blocks..........any thoughts or experiences of this manufacture would be appreciated.

Cheers Dave

thanks for your reply Tony, I dunno whether or not they are made in Holland but they are listed on this website under the concrete paving manufactures links.

Has anyone actually used these blocks or would I be better using Marshalls or one of the other manufacturers which I have heard of?

I know of Castacrete, but until a few months ago, I wasn't aware of them having the ability to manufacturer CBPs. Someone in Manchester asked me about them, and as Castacrete are 200+ miles away from there, i asked a friend in the trade in Kent, and he said the Castacrete blocks were actually the "Rumblestones" which have been shipped into the SE of Eng-er-land for a number of years from a certain manufacturer in Holland.

So, I tried to verify this with Castacrete, but they don't have a website (I know!!!). I 'phoned them and was told by the very polite and well-mannered receptionist that someone would get back to me with a statement. That was back in January, possibly February - I'm still waiting.

If I get time, I'll try calling again tomorrow, but that's no guarantee of an answer. Some CBP manufacturers, the likes of Marshalls, Tobermore, Brett and Formpave, are very helpful and forthcoming when I ask for info. Sadly, some other companies still believe that saying nowt is a good sales policy.
