Why no more than 60mm?

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

forget that actually. Apparantly it's not wise to seal sandstone. Not sure about colour intensifier either yet!

where did you hear that it wasn't wise to seal sandstone? Some sandstone has to be sealed. Not wise to use a cheap sealant and not wise to apply it when the stone is wet at all.

Like I say it's only 1/2m2 and the smears are low contrast. If it has to be taken up so be it!
I am trying to help you here mate
have only been doing patios for 28 years :;):
I dont mind pointing but to a lot its a ballbreaker
and it can make or break the final look
pointing that has been done on a cold misty day will look slightly different to pointing done on a hot sunny day regardless of mix accuracy
pointing as you go is asking for trouble
staining flags
dislodging newly laid flags
risk the bedding mix and the pointing mix becoming mixed and altering colour
any hand prints or foot prints need to be washed off with clean water as soon as they occur
cheers LLL :)

Ok my apologies, I'm just a questioning person. No offence meant!
