we havent laid a brick for 4 days and this cold spell looks set to continue into next week
anyone else got work held up due to sub zero temps?

apart from a fence repair yesterday there isnt any building work that i would imagine can be done at the moment
going to the allotment now to take delivery of 10 tonnes of finest cow slurry, probably frozen into a block

Same here, we are trying to do some steps, and a patio. Its on hold now until we can get some warmer weather, mins 3 here but im not chancing it.

Not enough work lined up to really worry about delays.

Got a few jobs lined up but I'm not desperate for the work so told the customers best to wait until the warmer weather. Only one I'm going to do soon is pruning a couple of trees.
Been using the time to catch up on paperwork and get more gas customers.

We've been trying to pour concrete at the new site for a few days now. Its frustrating but there is absolutely nothing that you can do about it. The weather has been good to us so far so you can't complain too much. Remember last year?

building a house in lewisham se4 london, brickys worked till wednesday, but last 2 days to cold ,-1 at 8am this morning so in the vans and home james....MSH

we laid 300 blocks on tuesday and triple covered them with sacking but i fear the cold may have done them
saw a gang building a 9 inch boundary wall on wednesday
yesterday the whole lot was down,
thing is next week is not looking much better

laid some setts at an entrance to a road on wed, and pointed them using settpoint. That stuff is superb. pour it in with a watering can, and it finds its own level!
covered it up well though!
been fencing today, and supposed to be diggin out for a landscape job on mon, but a dumping of snow tomorrow will put paid to that!

work on a new garden wall has come to a halt. 2 days work repairing a roof on the same job. bloody freezing. now we will have to leave that job and start a new job, (which i hate doing). going to alter 2 shop fronts in middlesbrough, just to make sure im not feeding the family corned beef hash till it warms up a touch. but its still better than last year.

Small internal indian stone job I'd left on one side for such weather has kept me busy a few hours a day this week. Bits of fencing to do next week if it's still cold.

Some guys down the road were tamping a fresh concrete driveway as I was on my way home tonight??? Local temp is already -2 degrees.

We are working just down the road from there in Latimer, and it is absolutley Freezing, no laying here either, just chopping out rotten bricks on chimneys.... still getting a days money in !!

suggers lives in the valley part of chesham, rather than on the hill, so he would have got it really cold.
latimer is just up the road, the river makes it a cold place. not many houses there, and they are all expensive!
