Hi,
First post onto this excellent forum and hoping on your suggestions for this slight problem I have.
I've dug out an existing concrete driveway to the side of a house, concrete approx 100mm thick. The mains gas pipe surfaces at one point (around 30cm of pipe exposed) and looks like it will be around 100mm below the final surface of the block paving. Its right in the centre of the driveway and so shouldnt have vehicle tyres running directly above it on a regular basis either. This means that with a 50mm block and 50mm sand screed, there wont be any MOT on top of the gas pipe.
Does anyone have any suggestions, particularly with regard to the final whacking down of the blocks. I'm wondering whether its just a case of building the compacted MOT to the same level as the pipe and then carrying on as normal.
Thanks
