Natural Swimming Pools aren't cheap, but if your doing your own ground work etc then the cost is dramatically reduced. Lining with Butyl Liner is a lot cheaper than concrete and tanking it, and then a tiled finish. The filtration mediums are the expensive parts. They look stunnuing though, in my opinion, and we can build them , if required, to look more like a "Traditional" Pool. Of Course you could just stick to the old methods, but they look crap and are a danger to health. If we all did it the "old" ways, according to LPD we'd still be hunting Mammoths and sacrificing our kids to the full moon.

Going over 12th Feb to do the deal. Struck a deal last night for both of her houses out there. Ones full renovated, the other not, but it was cheap enough .
If you want any info, PM me ,I have links to distressed property for sale buy toe government (not the e-bay crap)
As for the Natural Pool idea, theyre not suited to BG, frogs are one reason, and mozzies the other. You 'can' put them in, but its a right pain in the arris.
Heres a pic of what a locasl builder put in over there, shocking I think, ubt hes getting loads of work and recommendations :O
I dont think he used enough concrete in this one

i remember it being a big buzz place a few years ago
problem is with buying abroad if you do it in an out of the way place ,the airline bringing you there can cut that route at the drop of a hat
me and the missus wanted to buy an apartment in bergamo, flights from luton where dirt cheap with ryanair
we went to book our next visit and ryanair had cut the rout ===>permanently
we can still get there by travelling to stanstead ,but it goes from being easy on a friday to being hard work
where do you fly from hen?
cheers LLL

Funnily enough.........Luton
We have a few options should a route disappear. Theres Sophia (last resort) 3 hours in a car, as its the Captial, plenty of coach/train connections.
Plovdiv and extra 1/2 hour. But we will be flying into Bourgas, main holiday destination, full of Ruskies and apartments, thats just over an hour (80km). Use 'Wizzair' a Russian carrier like Ryan air. Tickets were £30 e/w in taxes. Wont be for long, but its not too bad it you dont have to pay for accommodation.
:;):
Oh, thats not to mention coming in from Greece or Turkey.

Maybe so. They're weren't locallutonlagerlout wrote:thought they were hungarian?
a 3 hour drive would cut your rental income down
realistically no one wants more than an hour from any airport
LLL
Not too worried about rental,it's more of a family /friends get away type thingy . Most of the airports are in the north which is slightly cold than where we are, also you miss the tourist trap side of things. hence the pool.
Has anyone had any experiance of installing gunite or shotcrete ?
Can get the kit in BG,like the installation method, looks like a good way to avoid the shuttering side of thing and also get nice 'wobbly-wibbly' finish.
Just if anyone has ,are there any tips appart from the obvious like not letting the hose/pump block up .

Yeh, don't go to the pub before you've done the finishhenpecked wrote:Has anyone had any experiance of installing gunite or shotcrete ?
Years ago in the last recession, i was started on to repair a massive underground wall in Eastbourne sewerage works. The bosses son who were contracted to do the shotcrete bumped me for a months' money. As they were from somewhere miles away and i had no money to go and chase them , i had to let it go. I started with another firm there doing shuttering and about 2 months later this lad turned up to get the big check. I was off the scaffolding like a grey hound and hammered the shite out of him in bywaters office
I explained to the bosses what he had done, not just to me but a lot of men. They kicked him off site and told him he wasn't getting paid until he weighed us in
