its the dam at ladybower, thats the third dam in the series it goes howden, derwent, ladybower all connected to each other, howden and derwent were the dambuster reservoirs were they trained, my dad and i went to the 50th anniversary were a lancaster and spitfire and hurriance in formation skimmed the damn at 50ft, i was only about 13 or id have been there for a few hours with two cameras lol hoping they'll do it again soon.

those are the bellmouth spillways, two one each side of the dam 23m diameter making them the 2nd biggest in the world all made of hand carved local stone. one as a plague saying laid by king george, proper craftsmanship they go down into a large tunnel and out under the dam. i'll post some more pics up, its risen 3m in 10 days..... scary amount of rain.

lots more here http://www.flickr.com/photos/cyberprop/sets/72157628547838965/

theres a 5 foot wall to the rd then they stand 2.5 metres tall off the stone bed when the waters down, they are stepped inside not smooth so youd have to either climb up and throw yourself down and they arent that deep they go down about 30 foot and then head off at a 40 degree angle through the dam and out on the other side, im going to absale into them with my climbing mate next summer, ppl have done it ill find the photos. or youd have to swim over to them, avoiding hyperthermia, then climb onto the edge as teh water is only inches deep as it goes over them them throw yourself down. theres a rope on bouys that flows up to cut them across to keep boats away but only boats on there are offical ones anyway not aloud to boat or kayak etc.

railing would forever be getting clogged with trees and brush etc, and look crap, remember was built in 1936 when ppl had common sense :)

i'll do a calendar but it'll have to be next year and it can all go to the brew cabin, i dont want out. i'll might mix landscapes with relevant paving stuff hehe better follow cookie around hehe,

should give an indication of scale, see person left
