Thing is we get these price increase advisory letters month on month but when we get quotes, it doesn't seem to jump up the stated rise amount. Weird.......I ain't complaining though.

This week has gone chicken-oriental! Taken on two last minute tarmac jobs, one small footpath reinstatement 30 miles away and 16ton of binder to make a loading yard very local to us a little safer until we can replace the surface in Feb/March.

I thought we were supposed to be winding down to Christmas????

Im not going to get my jobs finished, remedial works for bradstone still not finished due to weather, 100mtrs of 220mm twinwall and 100mtrs of 160mm perf land drain, silt trap and soakaway system for septic tank, still not finished due weather, was supposed to start a block paved path today - not a chance im risking 3 half finished jobs in this crap.

Hopefully get the bradstone job finished tommorow, chucked it down all day here! :(

I heard Paul Merson on sky sports the other day saying that the crowd were going "radio". Never heard that one before, thought maybe he had just made it up.

faux mockeny
radio = radio rental =mental
most London people don't use rhyming slang now

they would more likely say "its kicked off in the crowd" or " the crowd has lost the plot"

the main thing with cockney speak is that they very often say very little but its all in the inference

i.e. "do you want some?" can be taken in a number of ways
same with most cockney talk ,mixture of Jamaican patois and estuary English

We're scratching around trying to get the essential stuff finished for Friday. what a difference from last year weather and work wise!

The paver driver managed to drop his mobile phone into the diesel tank this morning.we couldnt retrieve it.

my cousin weighed in his years scrap collection-17 tonnes @ £195.00 per tonne. nice lift for the festive period!

i've got an old dead weight roller plus a pile of old ironwork,waiting to load onto the barn door skip tmrw. hoping to acheive a similair weight.

merry xmas to all.hope the economy doesnt collapse in 2012.
