Price has just gone up
I split up 11 tonne bags on sat afternoon
so at £50 a bag, thats not a bad return !

guy rd here has a transit pickup with mini crane came to deliver some a job we were on we lifted them off and he was charging £45 a bag for hard woods.

nice bit of kit, those avant are great tools

Its the multitec model which was basically the first version of the 500 series, manufactured in '96 we bought it in '97 as an ex demo.

on the subject of firewood,i was under the impression that evergreen timber is not good for your chimney or flue liner?
burns too fast and too much resin?
or is that just BS from log sellers

yes and no Tony pine for burning should be cut in the winter when there's very little sap in the wood and it then should be cured until next winter. It'll still burn quickly and not generate a lot of heat though but it's good to mix a bit with hardwood to form a heart.

I know that some tanalised timbers are really bad news, its a shame because i was on a contract to a company that had bags of offCuts.

Conifer MUST be seasoned. the resin will not "eat into the chimney" as some people say.
if you coulnd't burn conifer, sweden would be a cold place to live, as thats all they have!

only just read this post due to the font colour!

Tanalsied timbers do no harm to a fire or chimney, but give off arsenic when burnt, which is harmful for all sorts of reasons
